Let us say you are placing a kid on time out. This can be accepted as a disciplining measure. However, you cannot confine the kid to a small room or closet. Therefore, any method or strategy you choose to deal with challenging behavior must follow the rules and regualtions as well as your common sense.

Some positive measures to think of
Talking to parents about the offensive behaviors of kids can have damaging results to your organization. No parent wants to hear negative comments about their kids. However, some parents can be willing to listen to you. In either case, explaining the situation in a good tone and language and requesting for a team work to correct the ways of the child can work in some situations. Also, encourage a team work among the staff and teachers handling the problematic kids. Some kids will naturally be inclined to get along nicely with some caretakers and teachers. You may depute them specially to deal with such kids.
