Covering Some of the Best Long-Range Rifles

Thinking about putting good money into a true ELR (extreme long-range) rifle? These are some of the best long-range rifles in the industry, bar none.

CheyTac M200 Intervention

You may know the CheyTac M200 Intervention from hype or from video games, but it is a real ELR rifle, and it is one of the best.

A fluted, match-grade barrel, a justly adjustable stock and built-in monopod for stable shooting from any surface, an adjustable trigger and a muzzle brake deliver value here.

Chambered in either .375 or .408 CT, it is one of the best long-range rifles, period.

McMillan TAC-338

The McMillan TAC-338 is another great long-range rifle, and has a lot of features (roughly) in common with the M200.

It has a match-grade barrel, comes with an adjustable trigger, and sports an adjustable stock.

Two differences are these: the chambering (either .338 Lapua or .338 Norma Mag, hence the name) and the price, which tends to be a little more affordable.

ArmaLite AR-50A1

Perhaps the best anti-materiel round of all, the .50 BMG is the defining feature of the ArmaLite AR-50A1.

There are some other things to like about this rifle; it is a single-shot with a very minimal stock compared to most other long-range rifles. This keeps the price down.

Nonetheless, it is still highly adjustable, optic-ready, and comes with a muzzle brake, making it a great entry point.

Cadex CDX-40 SHDW

The defining feature of the CDX-40 SHDW is its Cadex chassis, which drives value and performance.

This Cadex chassis is highly adjustable to the shooter and sports numerous attachment points, making this a highly versatile long-range rifle that can easily be expanded.

And, the chamberings are good too: choose .375 CT, .408 CT, or .375 EnABELR.

Victrix Sceptre V

The Victrix Sceptre V sports a monobloc chassis with a highly adjustable stock and numerous attachment points, and a smooth-cycling asymmetric bolt.

The barrel is a 32” match-grade option with button-lapped rifling. It is also threaded and comes with a thread protector.

Another thing you’ll appreciate is the trigger: it’s a Victrix Sporting Plus, single-stage adjustable trigger, which is excellent for long-range shooting.

The chambering is another selling point here. Like the TAC-338 this rifle is available in .338 Lapua and .338 Norma Mag.

Barrett MK22

Another of the best long-range rifles is the Barrett MK22 in .300 Norma Magnum.

It is highly expandable and adjustable, with numerous attachment points thanks to an M-LOK system and 10 mil rail, as well as an adjustable stock.

It is one of the best long-range rifles in the industry but also one of the more expensive, coming in at just a bit under $20,000.
