An Introduction to Mavam Espresso

Must read

Most espresso machine manufacturers in the industry have decades of experience under their belts. Nuova Simonelli has been at it for 85; La Marzocco’s long and illustrious history started nearly a century ago.

Mavam Espresso is a baby compared to these giants, a relative newcomer that has only been around for a handful of years by comparison. Nevertheless, the brand has proven that it can stand toe to toe against them, making history in 2015 for winning Best New Product during the Portland Coffee Fest in 2015 by unanimous decision. Below is a brief introduction to Mavam Espresso and their products.

Bringing espresso into the future: Mavam Espresso
Mavam Espresso very, very quietly launched in 2015 to little to no fanfare. Founded by technician and self-described “lifelong tinkerer” Michael Gregory Myers, the brand is a privately owned business and is proud of their small team of industry professionals.

Small they are, but no less mighty than their competitors.

Mavam Espresso’s team members have proven themselves to be a capable group of agile and dynamic mavericks, able to put together espresso machines of comparable quality to the ones produced by bigger, more well-known brands. Further, each espresso machine that comes out of their workshop in the Great Pacific Northwest is built by hand, which in itself is no small feat.

When asked about his machine, Myers has expressed that he has no interest in telling people how reliable or temperature-stable his products are.

Instead, the founder prefers to show the masses the quality of the shots produced by Mavam Espresso’s machines. And show them he has, with coffee pioneer and Espresso Vivace founder David Schomer being able to to pull about 200 shots of espresso using a Mavam creation in a two-hour period during the 2015 Portland Coffee Fest. Suffice to say, the luminary was absolutely pleased with the results.

Which Mavam Espresso machine is right for your business?
Is your coffee shop ready to take a great leap into the future? Below are a couple of recommendations for your business, both available on Visions Espresso:

The Mavam Espresso Mach Two Auto Volumetric Espresso Machine is one of the company’s flagship products, an on-counter espresso machine that boasts unparalleled temperature stability.

Everything that baristas and shop owners could ever need to consistently produce excellent espresso is condensed here into a low-profile form factor that is as attractive as it is functional; the Mach Two features a simple and easy-to-use design with its ergonomic vertical piano-key activation that allows for smooth transitions between programming and crafting shots.

Additionally, the machine is equipped with automated pre-infusion that can detect when the espresso puck is fully saturated, as well as cool touch steam wands that guarantee safety and convenience for the user.

The Mavam Under Counter Espresso Machine, simply dubbed “The Mavam”, is the espresso machine that stole the show during the 2015 Portland Coffee Fest.

This configuration guarantees better visibility and accessibility, allowing your workers to interact and build relationships with your customers, turning them into regulars. Like the Mach series, the Mavam offers second-to-none temperature stability and automated pre-infusion for consistently beautiful shots of espresso, as well as independently engineered brew heads for ease of use and repairability.
